AKBANK 5 th SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

The Festival is established to provide a platform to unite short film makers and movie goers in a colorful and a sophisticated atmosphere. With a rich and varied program, focused on the discovery of new film talent, the 5th Akbank Short Film Festival will take place 15-25 December 2008. In addition to last year's sections, this year ‘Festival Shorts', ‘International Section', ‘From Short to Feature', ‘Documentary Cinema', ‘Animation', ‘Special Feature' were also added to the Festival program. The final day of Film submissions is 13 September 2008.

Akbank Short Film Festival has fiction and documentary sections. The short films accepted has to be less than 20 minutes long and documentaries has to be less than 30 minutes long. Last year 264 films and documentaries have been submitted to the festival, 48 of them have been selected to be screened at the Festival Shorts Section. This year's winner of the Best Fiction and Best Documentary awards will recieve 5,000 YTL. Other submissions to the festival outside of the festival competition for national and internation productions could be done through the festival website.

Film submissions and selections for the special sections of the Festival has already begun. For the international films we are in touch with major short film festivals in Europe. We will be releasing the names of the Akbank Short Film selection committee in the coming days.
